CNN.com - Emmy nominations announced - Jul 15, 2004
I am so happy…finally…Mariska Hargitay from Law & Order: SVU gets a long overdue Emmy nomination. Over the years she’s turned Olivia Benson into a hard-nosed cop who still has a heart…and she’s been one of my favorite actresses even back in her limited run as a desk clerk on ER in ‘98. Way to go Mariska!
And props to the entire cast and crew of Arrested Development…yes, it’s an honor to be nominated but it’s a bigger honor to get renewed for the upcoming season. It would be great if Arrested Development could win the emmy and experience the resurgence that an Emmy brought to The Amazing Race. It’s up against Sex and the City though and this last season was the show’s best. That’ll be tough. As long as Everybody Loves Raymond doesn’t win…that show is so four years ago.
I truly think this year’s most competitive race will be in the Reality category: The Amazing Race, American Idol, The Apprentice, Last Comic Standing and Survivor. I watch ‘em all but, I don’t know…The Apprentice was fresh and funny and featured hot women and male eye-candy, unlike, say, Last Comic Standing.
