At the risk of having this blog travel across the metroplex to the home of the Nakamuras, I must admit that I was/am on the bandwagon of thinking that Tammy looks terribly superficial. Sure, she grew up in a less-advantaged home and drove a truck with dad for a year after college (what does that have to do with anything, BTW), but the fact remains that it appears as though the last 20 years of her life (= HALF of her life) have been filled with privilege. I know people like this. They grow up in a less-advantaged situation and, rather than being humbled by it, they become uber-snobs and try 20 times harder to prove to people they’ve “made it.â€
“Look, if you watch your carbs, always have coffee around and own a car wash, you too can make it like me!â€
The media’s view of her has been skewed? Um…okay. I live in the land of affluent suburbs and women like Tammy live all around me. Well, they live on the other side of the neighborhood. I live in Phase One.
Al-Mela Biggins…you’re the real deal, and I like you! I was in just as much awe as you when I saw Tammy’s closet. And, I gotta tell you…sushi’s an acquired taste. I wasn’t a huge fan 5 years ago when I was first introduced to it, but now I love it. The secret for newbies? Lots of soy sauce and go easy on the wasabi.
