Yes, California is a community-property state.Well crap…guess I’ll have to return the Foods of the World cookbooks I got the two of them at Williams-Sonoma because I don’t like it when I hear people are having a big to-do wedding and then up and do something “private.”

Don’t young celebs like to have real weddings anymore? You know, the ones where you actually tell your mom you’re getting married before you get married. The really annoying thing about this is in about 10 years, when they’re my age and have a little bit of hindsight, they’ll look back and feel like they got ripped off not having the big fairy-tale wedding they probably wanted, but “fame” unfairly prevented them from getting. Wah. Then, for their 2nd, 3rd or 4th weddings they’ll think they’re entitled to have the big spectacle with a white dress and all the hoopla because the first 2 or 3 marriages “didn’t count” and this time…they’ve really and truly found, swear-to-God, don’t-compare-me-to-Liz Taylor, their soul mate.

And to think, I was just talking with my husband today, pondering what kind of wedding dress Britney would wear. I anticipated something in leather, maybe with a “Mrs. Federline” t-shirt to remind us who she’s marrying, because darnit, I’m just having a tough time keeping ‘em all straight! I also figured there’d be a reptile of some sort integrated in.

Now, we can only hope the divorce is as hush-hush as the wedding.
