I haven't watched, and it does sound like some cliches, but sadly - that is EXACTLY what it's like in Texas. The coach lives or dies by how the football team does. And the parents live to watch their kids - either play ball, or play in the band or on the drill team or as cheerleaders. This is Serious Bidness around here. New football coach, star player gets paralyzed first game outta the shoot, thuggish citizens blame coach for losing a game, after players try to cope with their friend that will now live a life in a wheelchair. There, I saved you watching 3 hours of NBC on Friday. Go watch a real game. I do like the coach's wife's character, but isn't Jack Bauer gonna git a little irked? But the coach might be safe, since Tim Daley's moving in on Jack's main squeeze after they were trapped together for 52 hours in a bank. hmm.. maybe I need to go to a real football game.
