I don't know what you think of Chiropractors, but I am a total convert...I thought it was completely hooey until I hurt my back rollerskating, and had tendonitis from volleyball.

Some (more and more) Chiropractors do Cold Laser Therapy. It's a laser that emits no heat (versus say, hair removal laser which do) and it is placed on the problem area for X amount of time. That's it. It's 100% painless. It also speeds healing by 40%. Apparently, it helps repair muscle, tendons, etc. from the cellular level out. It really works. I had had tendonitis for 6 months before I told my Chiro about it. She did the Cold Laser once, and my wrists were fine a week later (and have been fine since last March). It is completely non-invasive, so you could do it for the three weeks between now and your next appointment, and if there's an improvement, then maybe no MRI. If not, you didn't spend much money. But I would bet it will help.

If you want the name of my Chiro, let me know. She is really great. She's also in Plano, so not too far from you...She is a Chiropractic Neurologist which essentially means she has 8 years of training outside of college...so 12 years total!! She's good...PLUS, you get a 30 minute deep tissue massage with your treatment! All for the price of a copay!!
