Actually Dr. Laura, you did address a caller as a "disgrace to womanhood" several years ago on your radio show, when she expressed distress because her family was giving her grief about her choice to not have children. I remember that call very distinctly, and where I heard it...I was driving East on Park Blvd. in Plano. This was during a time when I too, was distressed about my choice. Hearing someone make such unabashedly judgmental comments about a very personal decision hit me to the core...so much so that I still remember it today.

Whether you were having a bad day, or are now feeling remorse because seeing a reference to something you said several years ago come back is a bit embarrassing...I heard what I heard. I don't make things up to sensationalize a situation. But, Dr. Laura - if it makes you feel better to inaccurately claim I am repeating some other person's attempt to slander you, then so be it.

I have never, ever said that women without children are "a disgrace to womanhood." That's just ridiculous. Since you never heard me say what I've never said, you must be repeating some other attempt to slander me. It's fine with me if anyone doesn't want kids - kids need parents who want them and will sacrifice for them. It is a blessing to not have kids if you don't wish to sacrifice for them. Please check your facts before you badmouth folks who are obviously only trying (for 32 years) to help people be and do better. warmly, drl

The whole thing pisses me off. Seriously. I have heard other people say way much worse, and nothing happens to them.

Is it bad that I laughed when I heard what he said? And do I care if it is or not?
