Well kids, we made it back from Chi-town on Sunday afternoon, where we had a wonderful time…click here for photos. Our flight out of DFW was delayed for about an hour and that combined with rush-hour traffic into the city center caused us to get in pretty late. Never fear though, after dinner we were ready to go! To sleep!
Ha. Seriously though, it was a wonderful trip. We made it to the Shedd Aquarium on Friday morning, and shopped…and walked…and shopped…and ate…then ate some more. It rained a good deal of the trip (despite being 88 degrees Thursday afternoon) but from what I understand, it poured rain here at home, too so…six to one, as it were.
Saturday night was the wedding, which was beautiful, if not long…Catholic nuptial masses wear me out. Plus, they always make my wedding feel insignificant…as if our 20 minute “keep it simple, stupid” ceremony wasn’t sufficient. LOL.
We were back for a total of one day before Capt. UberHusband had to turn around and head back up to NYC today. Funny story…he got up (which means, we all got up) at 4:30 a.m. for his 7 a.m. flight…then wound up missing his flight, not being able to get on the next THREE flights, then finally chucking the whole trip. Twelve hours ago I didn’t expect to see him until Thursday night and now, he’ll be back here in about an hour. Poor guy.
In my corner of the world, things are good…school is keeping me pretty busy (busier than I probably should be for one class, good thing I’ll have two next term) and I’ve already gotten into my first “conversation” with the instructor about her ambiguous essay guidelines. If you say, “Since this is a “personal†essay, almost any content is acceptable as long as it is related to the Unit content. There must be an explicit link to the unit content in your essay to receive maximum credit. In other words you need to include the concept from the unit material you are referencing in your essay” and my essay is 100% related to the content, it’s really not cool to mark me down ten points with the vague, “I wish you would have expounded on the topic more.” Urgh.
That’s it from my neck of the woods…is anyone still out there? How were your holiday weekends?

Ours was rainy and quiet. We watched about 12 hours of the Sopranos yesterday and cooked outside in the rain. Oh and I got a good deal Saturday at The Limited. How’s THAT for an exciting weekend?

It looks like a fun trip! It’s always fun to get away, plus you got to sightsee and have cocktails.
The bride & groom look happy, too.
I had a kind of low key weekend. Went shopping and out to lunch (with a winery tour) with friends. Summer is finally here!

Still here! I love the dress you wore for the wedding! Looks like Chicago was as nice for you guys as it was for us, but I’m guessing you probably did a better job packing in preparation for it. We went out with some friends, but otherwise, had a fairly mellow long weekend which was really nice (and much needed).

Wait…you came all the way up here and didn’t see “The Bean” at Millenium Park? What were you thinking??
I have no idea what that faucety-globey thing is either.

I’m glad y’all had a good time! Our holiday was very wet but we cooked out anyway! You just can’t do chili dogs unless you fire up the grill…it’s not right!
