So, in a variation of Becky’s “Greatest Hits” post…I decided to take the topic a bit more literally and talk about specific songs which bring back specific memories for me. Ironically, this was also a question in last week’s Friday’s Feast. Spooooooooooky!

  • Don Henley - “Down At The Sunset Grill” - I had my first real kiss while this song was playing. Ninth grade. School dance. Found out the guy broke up with me via the school bus grapevine the day after Halloween. Smooth.
  • 98 Degrees - “I Do (Cherish You)” - This song was on the radio right before I met CU in person for the first time. Ah, the summer of ‘99.
  • Dee-Lite - “Groove Is In The Heart” - Sophomore year of college…I drank many wine coolers while enjoying this song. Don’t tell the authorities.

  • Andy Gibb - “Shadow Dancing” - My 19th birthday party…you had to be there, but I do have video.
  • Debby Boone - “You Light Up My Life” - I used to walk to school with these two other girls in Wisconsin, and we’d sing the song at the top of our lungs on the way. Made some very snowy mornings a little more tolerable…even for a little girl.
