1. What did you do in 2007 that you’d never done before?
Kicked someone off a project team at school.

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I can’t remember and…probably.

No.

None other than the good old USA.

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
More patience, but I don’t know if that’s going to happen.

7. What dates from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
May 9 (CU had been back from Iraq for a year)…that’s about it. This wasn’t that eventful of a year, fortunately.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting all A’s the first two semesters back in my MBA program.

9. What was your biggest failure?
I’ve been thinking about this one for an hour…and I can’t think of any – probably because I’m not much of a risk-taker, so my chances of failure are usually pretty small.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Bursitis in my hip (fun one, found that out today) and a rather nasty bout of the flu.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
My iPhone.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
I have no idea. Will have to think on this one a bit more.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Some of my MBA program classmates – why are they pursuing a degree program like this if they’re not willing to put in the time and effort?

14. Where did most of your money go?
Home improvements & tuition. Between the breakfast nook, the pantry, the master bedroom closet, the front yard landscaping, the 50% deposit we put down for our new fence two weeks ago, and two semesters of grad school tuition…we’re pretty much tapped out.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Cookie’s chest x-ray in October, which showed her heart had reduced in size and her heart disease was under control.

16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
“Makes Me Wonder” by Maroon 5

17. Compared to this time last year, are you: a) happier or sadder? b) [a bit] thinner or fatter? c) richer or poorer?
Happier, about the same, about the same.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Work out at the gym.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Procrastinating with schoolwork.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
With CU and the doggies.

21. Did you fall in love in 2007?
Nah, was already in love.

22. What was your favorite TV program?
Another question where I can’t pick just one…The Office, Lost, Big Love, Weeds, Entourage, Dirty Sexy Money.

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
No…I pretty much hate all the same people. LOL.

24. What was the best book you read?
“Influence” By Robert Cialdini

25. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Vintage stuff from the 80s I had forgotten I really enjoyed…like Stevie Nicks and Tina Turner.

26. What did you want and get?
I wanted (and got) a better roadmap for my future – personally and professionally.

27. What did you want and not get?
I wanted a Wii…didn’t get one.

28. What was your favorite film of this year?
Oh geez…I can’t pick just one so we’ll go with Ocean’s Thirteen, The Bourne Ultimatum and Atonement.

29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
CU and I went out to dinner, and I turned 36.

30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Getting to a point of clarity about my professional life sooner than I did.

31. What kept you sane?
Capt. UberHusband’s unending patience with me and his support…as always.

32. What political issue stirred you the most?
Illegal immigration in Texas.

33. Who was the best new person/people you met?
My next-door neighbor.

34. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007?
You’re only stuck in a sucky situation if you allow yourself to stay there.
