So which is worse…having your heater go out in January, or having your air conditioner go out in July?
Discuss.
By the way…it’s Adelle’s birthday…and I’ve never been more grateful for the gloves she knitted for me than I am right now. Because of her, only half of my hands are cold. Happy Birthday, Adelle!

We had our furnace blow out in January ‘04 and it got so cold we had to take the dog and the kid to a hotel just to keep from freezing to death. At some point our upstairs thermostat (and remember - heat RISES) read 39 degrees. We left the cats behind because they were snuggled up under our down comforter in our bedroom. But that was COLD. It cost $1,000 to fix and when our house got to 60 degrees it felt like a HEAT WAVE.
Heat. I would have typically said A/C since you can bundle up when you are cold, but after the ice storm last month and several days with no power I can honestly say I don’t ever want to be that cold again.
