When Daisy got me up at 4 AM to go outside, I thought it seemed rather…cold in the house. When she got me up again at 6:30 AM I thought it still seemed rather…cold. I checked our handy-dandy weather station and sure enough - it was cold in the house, to the tune of 57 degrees. Fanfreakingtastic.
I called CU (naturally, he’s not here), climbed up the ladder to see if we had hot or cold air coming out of our vents (cold), crawled up into the attic to see if the pilot light was on (couldn’t tell), then came back downstairs to find a local York heating system authorized serviceperson. He’ll be here this afternoon. When I told him I worked out of my house, he said he’d try to get here sooner.
In the meantime, I have the fireplace on and the dogs are bundled up in blankets. The fireplace has raised the temperature two degrees in here. Much more, and I’m going to have to change into shorts! Ha! Sorry…the sense of humor is always the first thing to freeze. If it gets too bad, I’ll pack up the dogs and drive around for awhile.
Part of me thinks this is God’s way of making me work today…the faster my fingers type…the warmer I’ll stay…right?

Hey - I like your new theme! I saw this one and thought about using it and am happy to see someone else likes it too.
Sorry to hear about the cold…
i work at home, too, and normally, i don’t turn the heat on, but yeah, when it’s below 60 when i wake up in the morning, the heat goes on. i hope the service guy gets there quick! one time i was too stubborn to turn on the heat and wore gloves, a heavy sweatshirt & a hat to keep me warm. i was at home - who’s going to see me?
Natch! Things around the house usually go out when the men are gone. Several times when the Fireguy has been out of state hunting things have gone kaput at home. I tend to think it is a test of my strength… and ability to survive
Think of Hawaii and you’ll keep warm!!!
I got the most distressed call ever from my wife the first time I ever went out of town after buying our first house. She was in tears. “I broke the house,” she cried.
The air filter had never been changed and the AC had frozen up. I didn’t dare tell her it was my fault for not replacing the filter on time!
