So it seems rather odd to say this in light of having snow on the ground four out of five days this week (Texas is so odd…we get snow in March)…but Daylight Saving Time begins this weekend.
I’m a big fan of Daylight Saving Time because it generally keeps me from putting on my pajamas at 5:15 in the afternoon, but the downside of kicking over to it this early is it will be dark outside until about 8:30 in the morning. I’m not nuts about that.
Nevertheless, don’t forget to change your clocks this weekend if you’re like CU and me, who bought one of those slick “auto-change” clock radios a year before the Daylight Saving Time dates changed and still have to manually do it anyway.
That actually brings up an interesting question. Inevitably, there’s one clock in our collective lives which doesn’t get changed for about a month, if even then. For us, it’s the wall clock in the dining room. Shows you how much we use that room, doesn’t it? It usually also takes me about a week to remember to change the clock in the Jeep. I’ll remember to do it this weekend though, because I also have to change out the registration sticker.
What about you? Which clock never seems to get updated?

The patio clock! Since the weather doesn’t always follow the DST rule, we are not quick to enjoy time sitting outside! We often do not remember to change that clock for weeks.

The one in the kitchen. The what? Oh yea. Where I make my coffee.

thanks for reminding me… i will need to make sure my clocks are adjusted, too…
the clocks in the kitchen have to be manually adjusted… so does the one on my night stand in the bedroom. hubby’s clock adjusts automatically. we don’t have any wall clocks.
i think the clock on the coffee maker never gets adjusted on time.

We have a small clock that sits in the medicine cabinet in the bathroom. I see this thing every single day but never really pay attention to it. It is forever set for spring time change…

My microwave malfunctions every time we make popcorn (weird eh)… so we just leave that clock and don’t bother setting it.
Don’t forget to check the smoke alarms this weekend too! A lot of fire-related deaths (sadly) are preventable.

(kinda sad but worth the watch)

The one in the car never seems to be updated until a month or two in because I always forget home to reset it.

I’m pretty anal so I get them all at home/in my car. It’s the ones at work that seem to take a while. I don’t really get the point of Daylight Savings in this day and age. We’re now to the point where we’re not completely dark until almost 6:30 now (vs. 4:30 in December), so I’m perfectly fine not jumping ahead, esp. since it won’t be completely dark until after 10 p.m. in the summer for us.

The clock in my bathroom doesn’t get changed. I only look at the minute hand to tell me if I am close to being late for work. So, I didn’t have to touch it on Sat. Now I keep thinking I’m an hour late for work!
