First off, thanks to everyone who commented and emailed me about yesterday’s storm. I appreciate it, and am incredibly grateful that we have power…and that bits and pieces of our house didn’t wind up in our pool (if we had one), in other people’s yards, or down the street.
Things are starting to look better around here. What I have always found rather amusing about destructive storms is the joke nature plays by ordering up beautiful weather the next day. Once the haze burned off yesterday morning, it was warm and sunny. Perfect damage-assessing weather.

We also had quite a bit of wind yesterday which for me, was good…blew away most of the tree debris from our yard into neighboring yards. No biggie…they don’t have trees anymore so they can use the greenery. What the wind didn’t get, my handy-dandy electric blower took care of. Now our entryway looks normal again, although the aforementioned wind managed to blow all the leaves back onto our back patio. Oh well. Can’t have it all.
CU has been in Detroit since Monday and for awhile, it looked rather dicey as to whether or not he’d ever be coming home, but he’ll be back tonight. He has to fly through Jackson, Mississippi on regional jets…but he’ll be home only one day later than expected.
It sure has been a heck of a week, hasn’t it?
