During my RSS travels yesterday…I came upon this article, which linked to this article about the 21-day complaint free marriage experiment, which linked to the official A Complaint Free World website.
Finding these posts reminded me of my own personal journey towards complaining less. Funny, I know. Two months after ordering my bracelet…having not yet received it, I sent an email to the fine folks at A Complaint Free World Dot Org and inquired as to my order. I received a polite response back that, due to the mention on Oprah, the little mom-and-pop grassroots effort was so totally overwhelmed by requests that they were running about two months behind on fulfillment. If I didn’t get my bracelet in a couple more months, I should contact them.
And, contact them I did…on October 1:
Hello, I ordered a Complaint Free World bracelet six months ago. I’ve received several emails since that time indicating the surge in orders and delay in shipment. However, six months seems a little extreme in terms of turnaround time. Is there any sort of update on this?
Response:
Dear Stacy
Thank you for your e-mail. I appreciate the time you took to follow up with us. I’ve reviewed our records and found your request. I’m happy to say that your bracelets have been packed and are on their way. It may be a few more weeks as the bracelets need to route to our bulk mailing services company for postage and then through the U.S. Postal Service for delivery. If you don’t receive your package in about 3-4 weeks, let me know so I can follow-up.
Have a beautiful day!
So, being the direction-following gal I am (ever notice how close the words complaint and compliant are?), I waited exactly four weeks and followed up again. That time, I never got a response.
So when I saw these articles it reminded me that I never got my bracelet. I suppose once I bought the book (which I don’t believe I ever read), they had their revenue and didn’t need to be bothered with sending me anything for free. I followed up with them again today, just for giggles.
So here’s my big question…if you complain that you never received your Complaint Free World anti-complaining bracelet, is it really a complaint?
